Sitting pretty - Moke Seats
« on: January 30, 2011, 10:13:31 PM »
So I'm trying to track down theses seats.

I once mentioned them in another thread.

My hunt lead me to theses Portuguese / Cagiva moke seats

but they are all out of stock  :-\
So I posted a wanted note and someone responded. He sent me pictures of the seats that are in Germany

Theses aren't the ones I was looking for. They just look the the tomb stone seats.  :(

Does anyone know where I can get some of the Portuguese / Cagiva moke seats. I don't care what condition. I know choke have them but they look all wrong to me, even if I had them reupholstered better, the proportion and shape is all wrong.
If anything they remind me of my old Golf mk4 seats but not sure if they would fit. (the off white with the red trims do)

They look very similar to last-run Rover Mini Cooper seats - which were often a half leather, half cloth trim. If you found a pair of those you'd just need to reupholster. Or, find some pretty full leather ones, like these:

It's the best photo I could rustle up. Have a look at eBay UK for wreckers of late Rover Minis - the only problem is getting them to deal with you in the first place. My experience with eBay wreckers in the UK is that they're not very keen to get involved in mucking around with international sales.

One thing you may have to think about is...Are seats ADR approved.
It could be a problem but I'm not sure ? as they are not the original seats...

I was wondering why Nikkers hadn't contacted you yet Darth.

Have you had any experience sending larger items like the
seats to Australia Darth? I'm sure Nikkers will be all over this.

I think you would have to get them retrimmed regardless, can't have not so nice seats in your brand new moke!
That way you can get them in the white with green piping, which i think looks the tops
